Themes, themes, themes…
When I ask a mitzvah client if their event has a theme, I am always nervous anticipating their response. Let’s be honest… themes can go down the wrong path very quickly & take a classy event into cheesy-land. I am always looking for ways to inject the “theme” into the event without it taking over. As well as twisting a common theme into something a little bit unexpected.
When I was challenged with an NYC inspired Bat Mitzvah my head was swirling with visions of yellow cabs, bright city lights, shopping bags, theatre, street vendors, the Statue of Liberty, and on and on. How could we showcase NYC without making it look like a souvenir shop?
This mitzvah girl had AMAZING taste & settled on a Color Story of: HOT Pink, Red & Glittery Gold with pattern accents of dots & chevron. Taking a visual cue from the rockin’ invitation design by Lori Smith of House of Smith we worked together to incorporate NYC iconography.
Take a look at my recently styled NYC inspired Bat Mitzvah, that I think perfectly captures the theme in a glamorous & sophisticated way.
Our version of the LOVE sculpture created out of red mylar balloons, set atop a sparkly gold linen.
Our custom LED DJ stand tied all of the iconography and colors together into the focal point of the event space.
Of course it goes without saying that none of this could have been possible without the assistance of a talented group of vendors!
